So there is this totally magical thing that is happening lately. Maybe it's a feeling or a whim. (where did 'whim' come from. weird). 2008 is feeling different. Everyday feels new and i definitely think that the bad stuff in my life evened out with the good - so that now, everything just feels good. The reset button. Rubies stuff is chaotic. It feels like there is a change in the air, but it is for good. Finished the "stand in a line" artwork. New single to come out in March. We had our japanese friend Shinichi Osawa do a remix for it. It came out slammin'. Also, Phil Manley (Trans Am) who mixed our album, did a remix of "I feel electric", which is also slammin'. Also, our first single 'I feel electric' comes out next week!!


Was in San Francisco for the last week. My old home and sometimes new home. Got to jam with dan judd and terri again. A little call and response reunion jam. It felt awesome. His new music as 'sorcerer' has been in constant rotation on chez laptop. casa ipod. maison d'rubi.

Again, been into the snax. Peanut Butter M and M's anyone? dag, these are good. Sugar highs bring me dooown. Not so cool. On my drive down from SF to Santa Barbara, I felt the notion to call ms.feisty and she was in the middle of picking up indian food so she said she would call me back in 5. When she hung up, i looked up and saw the most magnificent rainbow. First it was just the perfect arc in the sky. Then she called me back, right when I was approaching the rainbow, and everything that came out of her mouth sounded like poetry. Taste the rainbow.

So now there is talk from Mary about starting this collective called 'the rainbow connection' or 'the rainbow collective'- just a bunch of strength. A lot of potential and a lot of people wanting to start their own businesses. Let's do it together! On another note, Mary has taken the photos for this upcoming event 'You are connected'- starring the designs of Liz McClean (magical fairy woman)- I am going to be art directing the event (and singing at it!)- All the people in the photos are friends of Liz and Mary's and are inspiring and strong women. This event is instead of a runway show at fashion week. I love the idea and am happy to be doing the art installation at the event. Finished the invite today:
I am so happy to be getting into 3 dimensional spaces. Literally. No. I mean, I love doing graphic design but I am more interested lately in creating spaces. Cutting things out, lining them up, pinning them down. I'm thrilled to be pointing my inspiration in this direction.

I'm also a part of a group show at Park Life Gallery in San Francisco which opens Feb. 27. Terri is going to show some photos at it too. Also....Yoko Ono will have a installaion in it! Wha?

This fresh silkscreen of 'Three's Company' nearly had me fall on the floor and die of laughter/reverence/laugher. My sisters and brothers and I would watch this show everyday after school. I think most of my sense of humor is rooted in this style of comedy. Plus, who doesn't love sexual innuendo? I heart innuendo. Seeing this image was the end of a beautiful evening with Andy, Nat, & Alissa. Playing records, eating snacks, and sitting on a hot carpet from Japan. Andy busted some serious japanese soft rock and hidden steve miller cuts. I was stoked. Finally, someone that shares a love for 'quicksilver girl' and 'winter time'
